Halloween Photo Cards and a life update

 I realized I haven't posted anything on here in a couple of weeks; time seems to be just flying by these days!  Right now it's the crush time at the vineyard/ winery, so my husband has been working super long hours (16 hrs some days).  This means long days for me and the kids.  On the plus side, I've had quite a few full evenings to put orders together, design new cards and post new designs on the website.  With Halloween just around the corner and the Christmas card ordering season just a few weeks away, I feel like I am in the "calm" before the storm.  The calm isn't even that calm.

  I don't really know what to expect this holiday season.  Last year was busy but not unreasonably.  Considering that the site was just 3 months old and it's now been a full year, I'm expecting life to be VERY busy!  I've been buying Christmas gifts and getting things in order to that I won't have to worry about our own holiday preparations when I'm busy with eveyone else's.  This year we also have several organizations that are having Dolcetto Designs Christmas card fundraisers.  I'm super excited about this!  I still have a couple of spots available, therefore if you're interested in this please contact me asap!  This is the easiest fundraiser you'll ever come across!

My Little Man

Amazing how fast time goes; I feel like it was just weeks ago that this little guy was born.  My little man is already 8 months old!  He gets around the house easily, crawling and pulling himself to standing.  He's got an amazing smile and the cutest giggle.  Love him to bits!

Last Days

Tomorrow we leave BC and head back to Ontario.  We've had a great time visiting family and friends but we're looking forward to returning to normal life and child friendly schedules once again.  Please note that I will be unable to reply to email on May 18.  All business/ orders will be back to normal as of May 19.  Thank you for your patience and  understanding during this time.

Cousins

For the past week we have been enjoying spending time with family and friends in BC.  It has been such a joy to watch our little girl interact with her cousin just 4 months younger.  The girls are just too sweet together!  I didn't realize how much I missed the mountains until yesterday.  Vancouver and the Lower Mainland are truly beautiful!

I've been thankful that I've been able to take my work with me while we've been away.  Thank goodness for laptops!  I will be able to complete printed orders after the 20th once again, in the meantime I'm able to complete all digital orders. 

My Baby is 2!

It's amazing how fast time goes by.  Today my little girl turned two!  We had a low key kind of day since we already celebrated last weekend and will be having another party in May when we're visiting family.  She's a spunky little girl with lots of character.  We love her to bits!

3 Months!

I feel like I just posted our little guy's birth announcement on here; hard to believe that he'll be three months old on Friday.  I'm happy to say that both he and big sister are doing well.  Calvin is such a happy, content little guy.  Thankfully, both kids nap well and go to bed by 7pm.  Therefore I actually feel rested most days and have time to complete daily orders.  I'm feeling pretty blessed these days. 

In business news, we've been doing more and more wedding orders these days.  It has been really exciting to see this business grow so much in such a short time!  I look forward to adding more designs to the different design galleries throughout the year, especially focusing on the wedding galleries.

We're excited about my brother and sister in law coming to visit us for a week from BC.  It should be great to relax and spend some quality time with family. 

A little update...

Just wanted to say that we hit the 200th order mark this past week.  This is very exciting for me since I only started this business in June, with a simple website and a few designs.  I am amazed at how far this business has come in such a short time.  Thank you for your business, the many referrals and repeat customers!

I feel so blessed to be able to work from home doing something that I really enjoy.  After teaching Elementary school for years and then going on maternity leave I felt like I still needed something for myself.  I had no idea that this would be the result of a little idea that wouldn't go away and 6 months of hard work. 

I thought I would take a break from posting Christmas card photos today and post a couple photos of my sweet children.  Little Calvin is 6 weeks old already and growing so... fast!  Sarah is 19 months and busy busy! I hope you have a great day; thank goodness for children that nap!

Sweet Baby Boy

I thought I would post a couple of photos of our newest addition.  Baby Calvin is such a content little guy!  Amazingly, Calvin and big sister Sarah seem to be napping at the same times.  I doubt it will last for long, but I'm thankful for the quiet in the meantime.  We've been big fans of family nap time these days.  I can't believe Calvin is 2 weeks old already, time sure does fly by!

It's a Boy!

I just wanted to let you know that we had a baby boy yesterday, October 22 at 9:24 am.  We named him Calvin Peter, he arrived weighing 8 lbs! Both myself and baby are doing great, here we are 4 hours after the birth.  We are thankful for a speedy delivery without complications; just two pushes and he was here!  Amazing.

I have decided to keep the shop open as it is a busy business time and I have already realized that it will be easier for me to work a little each day rather than a whole lot at the end of the week.  Therefore, if my replies are not as fast as they once were I hope that you understand.  I will continue to e-mail proofs within 24 hours of ordering.

Fall and Family

Fall is my favourite season!  I love the feelings of a new school year (even though I'm not teaching at the moment), the cripness in the air, the colours, etc.  On Sunday my husband and I took our little girl to the pumpkin patch, she loved looking around and checking out all there was to see and do.  She is such a social little girl, just like her daddy.  Well, Sunday marked my first due date (the second one is on October 27), and still no baby.  However, things seem to be progressing in the right direction.

If you send me an e-mail and/ or order and don't hear back from me right away, there is a good chance that I'm having a baby.  I will be sure to answer all e-mails/ orders as soon as we return home.  Up until the big day, I am still working and completing orders as they come in.  It's hard to believe that Christmas is less than two months away!

My Little Girl

I thought it was time to introduce my precious little girl Sarah, as she is the inspiration for many of our card designs (you may have seen her face on our website). At just 16 months, she is active and full of energy! Thankfully she has always been an amazing little napper allowing me the time I need to work on card orders and creating new designs. We're expecting our second child at the end of October, life is about to get even more interesting in the months ahead!

Parenthood is an incredible joy, rewarding and fulfilling in so many ways. It's amazing how it's also extremely tiring, demanding and a job that requires much patience along the way.
